Manufacturer: Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Pharmaceutical name: Paroxetine
Pack: 10 pills (20 mg)
Pexep is prescribed for managing conditions such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. As a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), it can help restore serotonin balance—a naturally produced brain chemical—over time, leading to a reduction in symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.

Pexep is typically taken once daily, or as advised by your healthcare provider. It can be consumed without concern for meals. The usual single daily dose of Pexep is recommended for the morning. The tablet should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed.

Common side effects may include an upset stomach, drowsiness, feelings of weakness or fatigue, increased excitement or anxiety, insomnia, nightmares, dry mouth, and changes in appetite or weight.

It may take 2 to 4 weeks for Pexep to achieve therapeutic levels in your body. Inform your physician and pharmacist if you have any allergies to this medication or others. Also, let them know about any prescription or over-the-counter medications you have taken in the past two weeks.

Inform your physician if you have a history of glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, difficulty urinating, seizures, hyperthyroidism, or any liver, kidney, or heart conditions. Notify your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while on this medication, contact your physician immediately.

If you are undergoing surgery, including dental procedures, inform the physician or dentist that you are taking Pexep, as it may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how Pexep affects you. Keep in mind that consuming alcohol can increase the sedative effects of this medication. Notify your physician if you use tobacco products, as smoking may reduce the efficacy of Pexep.

Avoid unnecessary or prolonged sun exposure, and consider wearing protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as Pexep may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun.
